On October 13, 2005, the Brownsboro City Counsel passed Resolution 2005-004 authorizing the creation of the Brownsboro One Half (1/2) Cent Sales Tax Corporation, Inc..
Articles of Incorporation were filed with the Texas Secretary of State on October 31, 2005, and the name was officially changed to the Brownsboro Area Economic Development Corporation.
The EDC assists in the expansion and retention of local businesses as well as attracting new business.
The purpose of the EDC is to help create and increase economic activity in the city and surrounding areas, thus creating jobs which improves revenue for the city through ad valorem tax and sales tax.
